Members, please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
OUR SPEAKER AND TOPIC:
Jim Ogden, Chief Historian at Chattanooga National Military Park
“Prelude to Chickamauga”
A few years ago, Jim Ogden presented one of our most memorable talks which many of us called “That Talk With the Really Big Map That Mr. Ogden Walked On.” This covered William S. Rosecrans’ movement to take Chattanooga. Well, Jim is back and with a new Really Big Map (and he assures us he’s still walking on it), and a new talk on the prelude to Chickamauga. If this talk is anything like the last one, you do not want to miss this. Jim has the uncanny ability to really make the battles come alive and his maps and movement of troop markers really help the casual listener get a feel for what happened. The last program was great and this one will be too! Please don’t miss what promises to be another legendary talk!
